a couple of quick things
1. I am in love with my balcony.
After a long day like today, I can just go sit on the edge with a hot cup of tea and smoke a cigarette in the cold and be perfectly content. I realized what beauty lies in the simple things.
2. I realized how much I like to cook.
Tonight I broiled chicken with potatoes, onions, garlic, and cherry tomatoes. It came out so perfect. The skin of the chicken was crispy while the inside was tender. And the potatoes and everything else were just perfect as well. Just browned enough. Had it along side with a bottle of Veneto Merlot that I bought for like…3 Euros. I also packed my lunch for tomorrow..I made a sandwich consisting of smoked turkey, brie, lettuce and cherry tomatoes with just a little bit of mayo. WIN
3. I once again rediscovered why I love dancing.
Francesca Harper reignited my flame. I want to live by her words. ‘Nuff said.
4. Being a grown up is kind of scary/sucks/rules.
Despite the bills and all the expenses of life, taking care of yourself is very therapeutic. I can’t wait to fall in love (I know I always say this) but, in all honesty, I can’t wait to fall in love with someone. Nothing forced. Nothing preconceived just because of looks or whatever…but I can’t wait to get to know someone and just really fall for them. I forget that there are so many fucking people in the world. (Disclaimer: I haven’t met anyone, nor am I interested in anyone here in Venice, it was just an observation today of where I am in my life along with the whole Valentines-Day-is-coming-up thing). Love is beautiful! Celebrate and be happy if you have someone special :)
5. I have so much respect for the cultures of this world.
Being in Italy has shown me the vast amount of differences in culture + all the different things I’ve been taking for granted. I like the lifestyle here. I am learned lots from my Italian friends. I can’t wait to go on tour to Rio de Janeiro to learn some more about the Brazilian lifestyle. Not to mention I’m excited to tour Italy.
P.s. I’m here until July now. Ain’t mad at it.
